Accounting Department Information

 Introduction 

The accounting Department of SIMAD was established and launched its first academic admission on 5th November 1999 ; or in other words the same time that SIMAD was formed. The need behind the department formation was to provide qualified accountants that is able to close the final  accounts of all types of organizations and interpret financial  information for those who need accounting it (Interested users).

Vision of the department

To provide the highest standards of accounting education, in order to achieve academic excellence in the field and to ensure social satisfaction and intellectual development today and in the future.

The role of accounting department

Among the roles of the department are:

• To provide accounting students with sufficient technical and professional knowledge to form the foundation for a successful accounting career.

• To provide accounting students with the skills necessary to implement their knowledge in the professional accounting environment.

Courses offered in the deparment

The accounting department offers a diploma, degree and certificate courses.

• Bachelor in Accountancy (BIA)
• Diploma in Accountancy (DIA)
• Vocational Accounting Courses (VAC)

Curriculum

The Bachelor of Accounting is a Degree program of three years duration divided into six semesters. The requirement of the Degree is one hundred twenty (120) credit hours.
