Introduction

The need for Information Technology (IT) graduates with broad range of skills like internet and e-commerce technologies and telecommunications and business data communication, and programming knowledge, has risen in the world over, due to the emergence of the digital firm, transnational business, and the knowledge economy. Somalia is no exception to these trends.

IT graduates go into a wide variety of sectors of the economy such as software engineering, banking, teaching, management, consultancy, industrial research and development, computer support, law and many more.

Program goals

The program seeks to promote knowledge and awareness of  Information Technology principles and applications of the same to the real world  business environment. The design and implementation of IT solutions to business using analytical and logical thinking, problem solving techniques, communication skills and team work.

  1. Highly professional lecturers.
  2. Complementing theory lectures by practical in the laboratory.
  3. Using highly technology in delivery of the lectures such as LCD projectors, Overhead projectors etc.
Curriculum

The curriculum of Information Technology  Department (SIMAD) is more comprehensive and upgraded in terms of modern concept and structure.

The Bachelor of Information Technology (IT) is a Degree program of three years duration divided into six semesters. The requirement of the Degree is one hundred twenty (120) credit hours.
